Leblon Beach is one of the most exclusive beaches of Brazil and Latin America. It is located on the heart of Rio de Janeiro and separated from Ipanema Beach by Allaha’s Gardens. Leblon is very similar to its neighbor Ipanema, but even more quiet and classy. The land prices are one of the most expensive in Rio, and consequently it’s where most of the famous buildings and exclusive hotels -such as the Marina Hotel- are located. However, perhaps the most impressive feature of Leblon beach is the social contrast that characterizes it; you will find both dangerous favelas in the lower region and impressive residential communities on the upper region.

Leblon beach offers many activities for tourists and attracts a diverse public: from families with kids to young couples who want to enjoy also during the night, and also those who want to keep fit, since its extremely fine sand makes it a very good place to practice sports and relax. It is a tradition to find a countless number of people selling from towels to food.

If you are planning to visit Rio and going to this amazing beach, be aware, because bathing is not recommended by the authorities after rainy days.
