One of America’s great traditions is the ever famous road trip. Unlike your typical 4–5 hours of road trip, US road trips last for days, in fact you could very well feel like you’re living on the road. There’s beauty on this experience as it widens your peripherals, I mean your wisdom. Well, travel wise, it always feels good to roll on wheels and see fantastic places. The American continent seem to hug all of them wonderful things and one of these travel treasures is Grand Rapids.
Before you say it’s a boring trip, think again. This particular town in central Michigan packs a hell of a punch on any traveler that sets foot on its soil. Ever heard of the best beer city in the State? Grand Rapids it is, known in the US as the frequently visited place of motorcycle riders looking for some drinks before to hit the road, well I have no idea if it’s legal. Nonetheless, you’ll find beer as an abundant liquid in Grand Rapids, you’ll love it if you’re an occasional drinker or something.
You’ll need some pretty good snooze for the next day packed with outdoor fun. Your trip can really be amazing; but for all this to happen, you certainly need an ESTA

Grand Rapids is home to many parks such as the popular Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. This is a large park and 5 hours is probably not enough for you to cover many activities in the area. Its nature trails are quite fascinating, burning calories is practically fun and entertaining here. Consistent with its Park name, there are plenty of wonderful sculptures in the area. You can even have fun with your little ones in the children’s park. The park also sports some fantastic indoor galleries where you can see some weird stuff like plants that swallow insects. At times, the park also hosts some outdoor concerts although for a minimal fee.
Don’t worry if the heat gets to you, cool off at Lake Michigan’s magnificent beaches. A particular favorite amongst tourists is the Millennium Park, not very far from downtown Grand Rapids. It has a great shoreline perfect for exploration and some beach walking. It could be your romantic getaway if you want. Because of the sheer size of the lake, the locals somehow monetized it so go enjoy some boat rides. Canoeing is also a particular favorite amongst the adventurous travelers, so go ahead and impress your date.
If you booked a hostel in the downtown area, you can stretch your legs on a short and leisurely hike with Grand Rapids great outdoor trails. If you really want to sweat some more and truly exercise your muscles, head back to Millennium Park. It packs everything from hiking trails, cycling, and even in-line skating.
If you love racing, well you’ve come to the right place. Grand Rapids racetracks are splendid. Experience short-track stock-car racing first hand during one of the events. Another favorite is the town’s world-class drag racing which is frequented by the younger tourists.
There’s pretty much of everything for everyone at Grad Rapids. Don’t just drink the beer, enjoy the outdoors as well.
